If you are diagnosed with COVID-19

When infection with the COVID-19 is confirmed, students and faculty members of the University of Tokyo are required to report whether or not they are infected and/or having had close contact with the infection to the department or graduate school to which they belong. The reporting method differs from departments, so please contact your department, graduate school, laboratory, etc. for more details.

When reporting to a department / graduate school, you will be required to submit the location history within the campus, from two weeks prior to the date that the positive specimen was sampled. You can use MOCHA to answer for this inquiry. MOCHA keeps track of user's location history. The information will NOT be disclosed without the consent of the user. Only with the consent of the user, the information can be used to notify contacts in the event of a COVID-19 infection.

Flow of notification to contacts

1. Based on the application from the person who have tested positive of the COVID-19, the MOCHA administrator will provide the person's location history to the faculty / graduate school.
   • Please fill in the "Informing Form of the COVID-19 Infection to Departments" to apply.
   • The University of Tokyo manages the location history data at MOCHA.
   • The information provided on this form will be provided exclusively to MOCHA administrators and department personnel.
2. The department / graduate school will confirm the close contacts based on the inquiry of those who tested positive of the COVID-19 and the MOCHA data.
3. The UTokyo MOCHA project team will notify the user who may have become a close contact at the request of the department / graduate school.
   • For the notification, the ECCS cloud email address used to log in to MOCHA may be used.

Providing information to departments regarding reports of the COVID-19 infection

For other affiliations

As stated above, it is possible to simplify the interview survey process of those who tested positive of the COVID-19 by submitting the location history based on the consent of the person.
