Terms of Service for Reservation Channel (for Laboratories)
Article 1 (Application)
- These Terms of Service are provided to set forth conditions of use and other items which shall apply to all users of the Reservation Channel (for Laboratories) within the UTokyo MOCHA App, provided by the University of Tokyo (hereinafter referred as "the University").
- These Terms of Service will be applied in priority, in cases which preceding rules or descriptions about the services outside of this terms of service differ from these terms of service.
- Of the items that is not indicated in this terms of service, items indicated in the "UTokyo MOCHA Terms of Service" will be applied as same in the Reservation Channel (for Laboratories).
Article 2 (Definition)
- The following words and terms have the following meanings in these terms of service.
- "Space" means the places in campus which can be shared and used among multiple people, and have been linked with this channel, such as laboratories.
- Definition of other words and terms are indicated in the "UTokyo MOCHA Terms of Service".
Article 3 (Registration)
- Constituents of the University who wishes to use this channel (hereinafter referred as the applicant) may register to use the services provided by the app, by fully agreeing to these terms of service, as well as providing certain information (hereinafter refered as the registration statement) through methods indicated by the University. Registrations are determined to be completed once the University accepts and notify the applicant.
- With the completion of registration, channel users may use the channel complying with these terms of service.
Article 4 (Systems in which the App generates, records and provides information)
- The channel user shall be considered to fully understand the following issues regarding the systems in which the channel generates, records and provides information, and have accepted these following terms of services before using the app.
- Location data of each users will be recorded by Bluetooth connections with the beacons in campus, and will be saved as the location history in the app-installed device as well as on the server.
- Congestion Statistics data will be created from the saved data and will be disclosed within the App.
- In case that the channel users apply for reservation or cancellation of reservation, that particular application will be disclosed to the channel administrator in an identifiable status.
- When a channel user is within the space, the user's occupancy information is disclosed to other channel users in the channel in an identifiable manner.
- Regarding the location history of channel users, only the number of people in the space should be disclosed to other channel users.
- Due to the performance of the beacons, it is possible that inaccurate data may be distributed to the channel users. However, the University does not ensure the integrety, accuracy, certainty and usability of the provided data.
- Channel users shall be considered to have fully understood and agreed to these terms of service when starting to use the channel.
Article 5 (Discontinuing the use of channel and suspention of the use of records)
- Channel users may, at any time, discontine the use of the Reservation Channel (for Laboratories) by withdrawing from this channel.
- For data which will not be automatically deleted just from the withdrawal from this channel, channel users may apply for deletion of location history and other personal data on the server through a designated procedure indicated on the "UTokyo MOCHA Terms of Service" Article 14, Clause 2.
Article 6 (Changes to terms of service)
- The University may, at any time, and without prior notice to the App user, change these terms of service as deemed necessary.
- In the event that these terms of service are changed, the university shall, in a timely manner, list the changes within the App or on the website, and the changed terms of service shall be effective from that point in time.
- In the event that the App user has used the App after these terms of service have been changed and its changes have been listed as set forth in the preceding paragraph, the App user shall be considered to have fully understood the content and have accepted the changed terms of service at the point of time in use. However, in the case that legal measures require consent from the App users, the university will acquire consent from App users in a predetermined method by the university.
